RENAISSANCE PROVIDENCE DOWNTOWN HOTEL / 5 Avenue of the Arts / Providence, RI 02903 / 401-919-5000

Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel is one of the most spectacular properties I have stayed at here in New England.
The hotel, designed using the old facade of a Masonic Temple, is a true work of art.
The hotel has a boutique style and is full of personality, sexiness and projects a youthful vibe.

My partner and I arrived on a cold November evening and was pleased by the super fast and friendly service of valet but even more pleased when we stepped inside the hotel’s lobby and warmed up by their roaring fireplace.
I absolutely loved the dim lighting and soft, lounge-like music playing.
Check-in was extremely quick and the staff personable and conversational.
Before checking into our room we decided to sit in the lobby and do some people watching and enjoy the ambiance.
The lobby has lots of big plush chairs and even games to pass the time.
We observed a nice mix of young couples, families and children.

Some people were simply passing through to dine at Temple Downtown Restaurant & Lounge, the hotel onsite restaurant.

Although we did not get a chance to dine there the evening of our stay, I can tell you that it is absolutely breathtaking and if the food is anything like the decor, it should not be missed.
We finally ventured up to our room and was immediately taken by the breathtaking view of the Rhode Island State Capital building!
The view from room #903 left us with our mouths open. Simply stunning!

The room is very modern and comfortable with a handsome, patriotic color tone of reds and blue.
My favorite was the decor of the bathroom with its two toned red wallpaper, marble sink and AVEDA products.

The bed was super-comfortable and provided a much needed excellent nights sleep for both Jen and I! :)
One of the best features of Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel is that you are so close to many of Downtown Providence’s attractions including the massive, and always fun to shop at, Providence Place Mall.
You are also a short walk to The Amtrak Train Station, Providence Convention Center and even Providence’s “Little Italy”, Federal Hill!

Gay & Lesbian Factor: The staff at Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel was extremely welcoming and gracious to both Jennifer and myself. A place this swanky, sexy and cool just HAS to be LGBT friendly! ;) As a local I can tell you that even though Rhode Island is slow on legalizing gay marriage, we are an extremely LGBT friendly state, especially Providence with its multitude of gay & lesbian bars and nightclubs and super liberal art scene. One cool thing I noticed on the Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel’s web site was information on Mirabar, a very popular gay bar located in Providence (currently closed but will be reopening). That brought a big smile to my face! :) I am absolutely “OUTING” Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel as LGBT friendly and worthy of our business.
This is not your average hotel, everyone! This is a stunningly beautiful property in a stunningly beautiful city. It is the perfect spot for both business or pleasure.

I cannot wait to return!
